Hollowed out

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. By the time I moved to Miami last August, she's been undergoing chemotherapy for a year. Due to the side effects of one kind of treatment, she had some problem with her teeth, which kept her from dieting properly. She couldn't bear to lose another white blood cells that had sharply decreased because of chemotherapy. So the doctor changed the prescription to oral tablet. Since then, Mom's life had improved a lot because she didn't suffer from all the hideous side effects chemotherapy brought about. She looked vigorous for about five months.
A week ago, the spread of the cancer cells to her lungs and liver was confirmed by the doctor. The bad news stroke everyone so hard that I even decided to change the flight so that I could go back earlier. I video called Mom last night and saw her look so fragile. I was so worried about her. Now I am not in any mood to do anything.
